FAI CUP QUARTER-FINAL REPLAY: Bohemians 1 0 DundalkANTO FLOOD'S extra-time goal was enough to put Bohemians into the semi-finals of the Ford FAI Cup at Dalymount Park. The deadlock was broken after 108 minutes when Flood connected with Mark Rossiter's shot following a Killian Brennan corner and headed past Dundalk goalkeeper Peter Cherrie.
Dundalk finished with 10 men after Dean Bennett was sent off on 76 minutes by referee Tomás Connolly. Bennett was cautioned after a foul on Brennan but appeared to say something to the referee who promptly sent him off.
There was an exciting start to proceedings as Bohemians went close to opening the scoring with just over 30 seconds on the clock. Owen Heary swung a cross in from the right wing which fell perfectly for Ger O’Brien in front of goal. O’Brien got his head to the ball but directed his header narrowly wide.
And it was just as hectic at the end of 90 minutes with Cherrie and Barry Murphy making vital injury-time saves.
The deadlock was finally broken when Brennan squared his free to Rossiter who shot toward goal. The ball rose high over the packed goalmouth and Flood jumped highest to head past Cherrie.
