Fay adds to Meath's defensive qualities

Team news: Darren Fay returns to the Meath team for tomorrow's Leinster football semi-final against Kildare at Croke Park

Team news: Darren Fay returns to the Meath team for tomorrow's Leinster football semi-final against Kildare at Croke Park. The All-Ireland winning full back missed the replay win over Westmeath last weekend and replaces Anthony Moyles. Otherwise Sean Boylan leaves the team unchanged.

Stephen Lucey returns for Limerick for Sunday's Munster football semi-final against Clare.

Dual player Lucey had missed the hurlers' two matches against Waterford but came on a replacement in the win over Cork last month and played centre back in place of the injured Jason Stokes.

With Stokes still unavailable Lucey fills the same position. Manager Liam Kearns has left a vacancy at full forward pending a fitness test on Brian Begley.

Meanwhile, Dublin's hurlers make four changes to the side that lost to Kilkenny in last weekend's Leinster semi-final. Michael Carton and Ronan Fallon will start a championship game for the first time in Sunday's All-Ireland qualifier first round match with Offaly at Croke Park.

Both Fallon and Carton have appeared as replacements in the recent games against Laois and Kilkenny. Along with the two debutants Kevin O'Donoghue and Stephen McDonnell also return.

Derek O'Reilly, David Sweeney, Keith Horgan and Ger Ennis are the players to lose out.

In other news, Limerick County Board chairman Pat Fitzgerald has apologised to the Moran family for what he described as a misunderstanding in relation to Niall Moran's injury in the hurling championship replay against Waterford.

Moran sustained a head injury early into the match and was removed to a local hospital. Mr Fitzgerald told delegates at a county board meeting that on checking with the hospital they were left with the impression that Moran, suffering from concussion, was being detained overnight for observation.

It subsequently emerged that the player was released from hospital later that evening and had to find his own way home.
