Ryder Cup: The European Ryder Cup table has been adjusted two days after the finish of the US PGA championship following the realisation that money earned by players who missed the cut last Friday counts and should have been added.

It does not alter anybody's position, but it does mean Paul McGinley, in ninth place, is €42,483 behind Padraig Harrington in eighth, about €1,600 more than previously, for example.

The difference could become critical at the end of qualifying next week. Back in 1991, David Gilford edged Eamonn Darcy out of a place by less than £100.
