Clongowes comfortably booked their place in the second round when they outclassed King's Hospital in a one-sided encounter in Celbridge yesterday.

The Kildare side ran in eight tries in the process, with speedy right winger Morgan Hickey-Crowe bagging a hat-trick.

Clongowes opened their account after 11 minutes when HickeyCrowe grabbed his first try. Five minutes later, open side flanker Gavin Murphy went over with captain Conor Clancy converting. Clancy posted a penalty four minutes later and Clongowes completed their first half scoring on 27 minutes with Hickey-Crowe's second try.

David Sharkey, Brian Crean, Hickey-Crowe and Ruadhri Carmody added second-half tries.
