A squad of Ulster footballers will have little time to enjoy the festive season as they will swing back into action on January 3rd. That's when the province's team manager Brian McEniff has arranged a training session for Lisnaskea.

Yesterday, McEniff named a 28-man squad to begin preparations for the Railway Cup semifinal against Connacht at Roscommon on January 25th Once again, the competition has been pushed into an untimely date when most players are still taking a rest.

"We have lost to Leinster and Munster over the past couple of years but we weren't hungry enough. There are a lot of new lads in the running for a place in the team now so this is an opportunity for them to show their hunger," stresses manager McEniff.

Because of injuries Cavan players Stephen King and Damian O'Reilly were not considered while Derry stalwart Anthony Tohill will be married next week and will miss the first session.
