Racing: Aidan O'Brien's Irish Derby winner Dylan Thomas heads 10 horses confirmed for Tuesday's Juddmonte International Stakes at York.

The Danehill colt, who has been off the track since his Curragh Classic win last month, is one of two possibles for the Ballydoyle handler.

O'Brien could also saddle French 2000 Guineas winner Aussie Rules as he goes in search of a second triumph in the 10-furlong race following the success of Giant's Causeway in 2000.

Last year's third, Maraahel, could line up once more and may be joined by another Michael Stoute-trained runner in Notnowcato, who finished second to David Junior in the Coral-Eclipse on his last outing.

Godolphin also have two representatives, headed by the recent German Group One winner Cherry Mix and Sussex Stakes disappointment Echo Of Light.

William Muir's consistent Enforcer, who finished just under three lengths behind Hurricane Run in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes, could take his chance, as could Roger Charlton's improving Blue Monday.

An international flavour is added by Carlos Laffon-Parias's Laverock, winner of the Prix d'Ispahan, while the possible field is completed by David Elsworth's Snoqualmie Boy.

David Junior however will bypass the Juddmonte and the Irish Champion Stakes in September. Brian Meehan's Eclipse hero will instead head straight for Churchill Downs and the Breeders' Cup Classic on October 28th.

"Everyone connected with the horse has had their hearts set on the Breeders' Cup and it is sensible to build his preparation gradually towards the objective," said Meehan.

Following the news David Junior will miss the race, Dylan Thomas has been installed as 7 to 4 favourite for the Champion Stakes.
