Ducking and diving the corruption

What IS Michael Roche to think when he arrives at the Olympic Games in Sydney this autumn as Ireland's only representative in amateur boxing. Accused of being corrupt to the core, the International Amateur Boxing Federation (IABA) have already robbed Roy Jones Jr of an Olympic gold medal in 1988 and the great Cuban heavyweight Felix Savon of a World Championship gold medal in 1997. If two of the greatest boxers who ever stepped into a ring can be shafted, what hope is there for a young man from Cork who knows and cares little about global sports politics? Then again, the International Olympic Committee have mopped up corruption, haven't they?
