Moyle Park, Clondalkin, were worthy winners at the Oak Park ground in Carlow yesterday, but the final score did not reflect the contribution of Good Counsel, New Ross.

The Dublin school took the lead after 22 minutes when hooker Anthony Stringer touched down and Mark Duggan converted.

In the second half Good Counsel flanker and captain Mark Dunne crossed for an unconverted try, but the Wexford side were unable to add to their tally.

Instead it was Moyle Park who regained control with a try from their number eight Kevin Hanlon, followed by last-minute try from prop Conor Moloney.
