Dublin Colleges were worthy winners of this Leinster Colleges SHC A quarter-final at the Carlow Hurling Club grounds. One statistic underlined the difference between the teams. Seven of the Dublin Colleges players shared in their scoring, while centre-forward, Rory Jacob, was Enniscorthy's lone marksman.

Played in ideal hurling conditions, the Dublin Colleges always held an edge, mainly through the influence of midfielder Conal Keaney who contributed 0-3 to his side's total.
