RACING:A PAIR of weekend winners head to Downpatrick this afternoon in an attempt to keep ahead of the handicapper and both Coldwinters and Drumlister can win again.

Drumlister overcame some sketchy jumping to win at Tramore on Saturday and carries a mandatory 4lb penalty into the handicap chase. His jumping will have to sharpen up a little but Paul Townend’s mount still looks the one to beat. Coldwinters got home by a neck at Kilbeggan on Sunday but that doesn’t tell the whole story as Gillian Callaghan’s runner stumbled badly at about the fourth last and did well to get up and win.

He can get the better of the topweight Clonsilla Affairs, who won all of five days ago at Clonmel, in the second handicap hurdle.

The veteran Aitmatov will rarely get a better chance to break his duck over fences than in today’s Beginners Chase.
