Drogheda United 3 Waterford Utd 0: Drogheda United put their off-the-field problems behind them to secure a well-merited victory over a disappointing Waterford side yesterday.

Drogheda were in control of this game from the opening minutes, however, it took them until the 68th minute to break the deadlock.

Managerless, Drogheda United showed no ill-effects from the trauma which engulfed the club in the previous 24 hours.

The home side deservedly took the lead with 68 minutes gone when Declan O'Brien picked the ball up in his own half. He sent Mark Quinless away who fed the ball to Andy Myler, and he found the net superbly from 12 yards.
