DOLPHIN took full advantage of Bective's 23-13 defeat at the hands of DLSP to move to the top of Division Two.

Tommy James was the key player for DLSP. Although Craig Whelan got in for a try in Bective's first real attack, three penalties and a drop goal from James gave the home side a 12-10 lead at half-time. When Brian Hogan's kick ahead bounced away from Bective full-back Craig Whelan, the DLSP captain was on hand to dive over and seal a 23-13 win.

It didn't look very promising for Dolphin at half-time against Skerries at Musgrave Park, with the visitors leading 17-6. However, Dolphin eventually beat the Dublin side 23-17.

Clontarf's 29-18 win over Monkstown at Castle Avenue edges them into second position ahead of Bective. The sides were level on five points at half-time but when Nicky Barry scored a try within a minute of the restart, the home side were on their way.
