Hurling Kehoe Cup/DIT 4-21 Louth 0-6: With a host of underage intercounty stars in their ranks, DIT easily accounted for Louth in the opening round of the Kehoe Cup at the Gaelic Grounds, Drogheda, yesterday.

Kilkenny's Martin Phelan led the way with nine points (five frees), but contributions from Tipperary, Laois and Dublin players followed in this one-sided match.

Kieran Bergin, Brendan McEvoy and Niall Kelly struck 1-2 each as DIT raced into a 3-12 to 0-4 interval lead with the only response coming from the dead-ball accuracy of Louth's Gerard Smith. The one-sided affair continued in the second half with Tadhg Brown adding a fourth goal.
