CLUB ROUND-UP:DERRYLAUGHAN QUALIFIED for their first Tyrone SFC semi-final in 24 years with a 1-13 to 1-10 win over Moortown at Coalisland. The senior newcomers hit a purple patch in a 15-minute spell either side of half-time, during which they landed 1-7 without reply.

Colm Robinson and Liam Gervin combined in a sparkling attacking double act, scoring 1-7 between them.

The remaining three quarter-finals ended in draws, with Carrickmore’s 0-6 each stalemate with Clonoe the latest tie to require a replay, with county star Conor Gormley thumping over a stoppage-time leveller for Carrickmore.

In Sligo, Tourlestrane turned the tables on reigning champions Eastern Harps in a gripping semi- final replay at Markievicz Park on Saturday. The Harps looked to have forced extra-time in the closing couple of minutes before a last-gasp point from play by John Quinn earned the 0-10 to 0-9 win.

The champions got off to a dream start in the first half with two points by Niall McGill, who accounted for 0-6 of the losers’ scores, inside as many minutes.

Brian Egan and John Marren kept Tourlestrane, who were beaten by Harps in last year’s final, in touch but the champions led by 0-6 to 0-3 at the interval.

But Eastern Harps failed to raise a flag for 20 minutes of the second half as Tourlestrane reeled them in before finally taking the lead on 52 minutes.

Fermanagh champions Roslea are through to a third consecutive Fermanagh SFC final after they edged out Devenish 2-6 to 0-9 in their replayed semi-final at Brewster Park on Saturday night.

Goals at crucial times of the contest proved decisive for Peter McGinnity’s side, with the Lynch brothers, Shane and Liam, providing the vital strikes on the night.

Éire Óg came from second half arrears of four points to send Palatine tumbling out of the Carlow SFC in Saturday’s quarter-final at Dr Cullen Park, the former Leinster Club football champions winning by 3-11 to 2-8. Right-corner forward Bryan Carbery was in outstanding form, scoring 2-5 as Éire Óg qualified for a semi-final meeting with defending champions Old Leighlin.

Elsewhere, Tinryland strolled into the semi-finals with a 3-16 to 0-11 hammering of O’Hanrahans. This was a trap to line victory for Tinryland, who were helped by Paul Broderick’s immaculate place-kicking, and they now meet Rathvilly in the second semi-final.

In Limerick, champions Monaleen qualified for the Limerick football semi-final when they beat Ballylanders by 2-12 to 2-9 at Bruff.

A goal from a penalty by former Limerick soccer and Gaelic football player Eoin Keating helped Monaleen into a 1-7 to 0-5 interval lead. Mike Mansell’s goal brought Ballylanders back into contention but Muiris Gavin’s 44th-minute goal clinched the win for Monaleen.

In the other quarter-final, Drom-Broadford had a comfortable 2-9 to 0-6 win over St Patrick’s, with the goals being scored by Jason Stokes and Ray Lynch.

In the Limerick SHC semi-final replay the Moran brothers, Niall and Ollie, inspired Ahane to a 3-13 to 1-12 win over Emmets. They will now will meet Na Piarsaigh in the final on October 2nd.
