Sligo 0-14 Limerick 1-10: A LAST-GASP point by Jonathan Davey saved Sligo's blushes in this mediocre Division Three game at Markievicz Park yesterday.

The St Mary's club man edged Sligo ahead in the 69th minute after Ciarán Quinn squared the match for the fifth time.

Sligo had raced into a three-point lead after six minutes with David Kelly, Eamonn O'Hara and Philip Gallagher on target.

Kieran O'Callaghan opened the visitors' account on seven minutes.

Dermot Phelan blasted the ball to the Sligo net from an O'Callaghan free kick two minutes into stoppage time to put Limerick 1-6 to 0-5 ahead at half-time.

They were five points in front after five minutes of the second half and should have pushed on from that stage.

But Sligo left their first-half form behind to tag on five unanswered points to square the match 1-8 to 0-11 in the 53rd minute.

Sensing a third defeat on the trot would leave them in serious trouble, Sligo stepped up a gear in the tense closing minutes to collect their first points.

The highlight of the second half was a superb 48th minute save by Seán Kiely. David Kelly found acres of space in front of goal but Kiely came to the visitors' rescue.
