Daliapour can point Cumani towards Epsom

Daliapour can take a well-established path to Epsom by winning the Derby Trial at Lingfield today

Daliapour can take a well-established path to Epsom by winning the Derby Trial at Lingfield today. Newmarket trainer Luca Cumani saddled Kahyasi in 1988 and High-Rise last season to lift this Group Three prize before going on to glory in the premier Classic.

Now it is the turn of Daliapour, who is currently a 10 to 1 shot for the Epsom Derby, to secure his place in Flat racing's blue riband event.

Daliapour has a big advantage over the other two as he has already shown he can act at Epsom by making a successful reappearance over an extended 10 furlongs of the Derby course last month.

And he had to gain victory the hard way by making the running but was not hard-pressed to hold off Lightning Arrow, who was receiving 4 lb., by two and half lengths.
