GARRYOWEN, who recently lost international wing Richard Wallace to the English club Saracens, have signed the Ireland under 21 international and Ireland squad member Dominic Crotty.

Crotty, who has played his club rugby for UCC, is not bound by the June qualification date for players changing clubs as this does not apply to players leaving university.

Several clubs were anxious to acquire Crotty's services but his decision to join Garryowen represents a major disappointment for Cork Constitution, who had hoped he would enlist. Crotty (22) has played for Munster, Ireland under 21, Irish Universities and Students.

"I have thought about the whole scene very thoroughly and decided to go to Garryowen," Crotty said. "In going to Garryowen I am joining a very good club and going to Limerick also represents two options for me in terms of my career."
