Munster MFC/Cork 0-9 Limerick 1-3: Cork pulled the strings in the second half at a rain-drenched Gaelic Grounds last evening. Limerick got the perfect start with a third-minute goal from Michael Curtin but the sides went in level at 0-5 to 1-2, with David Kearney and Ricky Kenny sharing the Cork points, four from frees. Limerick goalkeeper Ger Ryan was stretchered off on 17 minutes.

In the 46th minute Kenny put the visitors ahead for the first time. Limerick were punished when Kenny again, Seán Kiely and Eric Hegarty pointed and they claimed the final score through Ger Collins.
