THE South African team for the second Test in King's Park, Durban, on Saturday will show at least three changes from the side that lost 16-25 to the Lions at Newlands on Saturday.

Three of the three-quarter line who played in the first Test have been ruled out because of injury. Right wing James Small (hamstring), and both centres Japie Mulder (shoulder) and Edrich Lubbe (hamstring).

The Springboks yesterday called up the Western Province wing Peter Rossouw and also hope to bring in the Northern Transvaal centre Danie Van Schalkwyk.

Efforts were also made to ascertain the availability of Hennie Le Roux, a surprising omission from the squad in the first instance. But Le Roux has informed the Springboks coach, Carel du Plessis, that he is not available because of a groin injury.

Le Roux is currently at odds with the president of the South African and Transvaal Unions, Louis Luyt, a fact that may account for his omission from the squad when it was announced some weeks ago.

The Springboks will name their side this afternoon in Durban. Russell Bennett, who replaced Lubbe during the first Test, is certain to come in on the wing.

The Lions will announce their side tomorrow having initially stated that they would name the team today.
