SCOTT GIBBS will take an earlier flight to Cape Town today with Lions tour doctor James Robson after being stretchered off with an ankle ligament injury in East London.

Fran Cotton said: "Nobody knows how he will be. We are flying in the afternoon, but we want Scott to have treatment as early as possible.

"Any question of replacing him is hypothetical."

Gibbs was strapped up after being taken off and was reported to be walking about. But the Lions are certain to be making inquiries about flights from Argentina to get Mike Catt here if the news about Gibbs is adverse.
