PAUL CARBERRY will desert Grand National fourth Buckboard Bounce in tomorrow's Scottish equivalent at Ayr, it was revealed yesterday.

Robert Ogden's retained jockey will instead team up with the owner's well backed Act the Wag in the £65,000 contest, having captured the Durham National at Sedgefield on the gelding last Saturday.

Carberry rode Buckboard, Bounce, quoted at 10 to 1 for tomorrow's race by Coral, at Aintree where he stayed on well in the latter stages to take fourth place behind 25 length winner Lord Gyllene.

But he was also aboard the Martin Todhunter trained Act The Wag whose Ayr price was slashed from 10 to 1 to 8 to 1 by Coral on Wednesday when the gelding defied 11st 11lb in first-time blinkers at Sedgefield.
