By Royal decree: Brian and Amy get invitation

BRIAN O’Driscoll could be set for a busy weekend in late April after receiving an invitation to the royal wedding of Prince William and his fiancée Kate Middleton on Friday, April 29th. If Leinster reach the semi-finals of the Heineken Cup they are scheduled to be played on Saturday, April 30th and Sunday May 1st. The Ireland captain and his wife Amy received their invitation to the ceremony last weekend.

Prince William spent some time with the 2005 Lions in New Zealand – O’Driscoll was captain – and was also a member of the presentation party when Ireland won the Grand Slam at the Millennium stadium in 2009, visiting the Irish dressing room in the aftermath to pass on his congratulations. O’Driscoll said: “It’s quite the honour and a lovely surprise for us to have been even considered.”
