Butler shines for Rockwell

MUNSTER SCHOOL'S SENIOR CUP:Rockwell 22 Glenstal 17

A POWERFUL contribution from number eight Paddy Butler played a key role as Rockwell defeated Glenstal at Tipperary yesterday.

Glenstal prop Paul Cullen crashed over after eight minutes and Mike O’Flynn converted but Rockwell hit back with a try by centre Gavin Ryan and another by winger Kenneth O’Dwyer along with a conversion and 55-metre penalty by Paul McEvoy. Glenstal stayed in touch with a penalty on half-time by O’Flynn before Rockwell took control with a third try by Brian Smith which McEvoy converted. Glenstal narrowed the gap with a try by Duncan Casey, converted by O’Flynn. However, Rockwell held out to set up a semi-final meeting with St Munchin’s.
