Ballinascorney and Powerscourt will contest the final of the Best Cup 2000 after exciting wins over Hollywood Lakes and Black Bush in the semi-finals. At home in the first leg Hollywood Lakes took a commanding 4 1/2-1/2 lead to Ballinascorney but the home team turned the tables in the return leg by winning all five matches for a 5 1/2-4 1/2 victory.
Meanwhile, Powerscourt won the first leg at home 4-1 against Black Bush and had to survive a few anxious moments before gaining the one and a half points necessary to take them into the final. After halving two of the top three matches they had to wait until the final game to clinch their place in the final.
The final sponsored by Lambert Smith Hampton, Property Solutions, will be played at Malahide on Saturday September 2nd.
