THE appropriately-named Billy Berry was the overall winner of the Fruit Traders annual trip to Spain last week. Berry shot 95 points for the week to win by one from Royal Dublin's Brendan O'Malley. Peter O'Brien (Forrest Little) had an outstanding score of 41 points on the opening day at Mijas, while O'Malley joined Gerry Moran, Bob Barnes and Peter Mongey to win team event at Torrequebrada. Joe Lynch's 36 points was best at Parador and John Ryan won on Friday at La Cala with 32 points from Joseph Dempsey.
Another Dempsey, Irish rugby international, Girvan, was the r unaway winner of the Joe O'Reilly Cup at Ballinascorney, shooting 45 points off a 20 handicap.
