The Dooks club in Glenbeigh, Co Kerry showed admirable initiative in organising a competitive "away" weekend for the members, and those who travelled were rewarded with fine weather for their games at Portmarnock, Royal Dublin and the European Club.

Contested on an aggregate stableford format, the overall winner was nine-handicapper John Noonan with 101 points. He set himself up for victory with 38 points at Portmarnock, which was the best score on any of the courses. Dave Kirby led the field at the European with 36 points, the same score that earned Tim Griffin first prize at Royal Dublin.
