Another big win for Kerry

Tyrone's troubles started before they arrived in Tralee yesterday

Tyrone's troubles started before they arrived in Tralee yesterday. Their flight from Belfast was delayed forcing the game to be put back 30 minutes and Kerry then proceeded to tear them apart.

Kerry thus took up where they left off against Cork, even without the inspirational Seamus Moynihan, and they produced one of their best displays for a long time.

Points from John Crowley, Aodhan McGearailt, Michael Francis Russell, Noel Kennelly and Donal Daly helped Kerry set up a 0-7 to 0-3 half-time lead.

The second half was one-sided as Kerry struck for a goal inside a minute when Daly fed man of the match Liam Hassett - who excelled in the role of target man - and he brushed his marker aside before drilling the ball low to the Tyrone net. Eoin Gormley replied with a free but Tyrone failed to score for the next 20 minutes. In the meantime Kerry were in a rampant mood, scoring nine unanswered points with Denis O'Dwyer showing a welcome return to form with three welltaken efforts. When Noel Kennelly scored Kerry's second goal in the 55th minute, most of the crowd were on the way out of the ground and Tyrone's only consolation was a late goal from substitute Colin Holmes in the 67th minute.
