Bolton are expected to win the race to sign Republic of Ireland international midfielder Keith Andrews. The 31-year-old is set to agree a two-year deal with Wanderers following his release by West Bromwich Albion.

Gareth Bale has signed a new four-year contract at Tottenham. “The club is progressing and I want to be a part of that, so it was great to get the deal done,” said the Wales winger.

Croatia defender Vedran Corluka has joined Lokomotiv Moscow from Tottenham Hotspur after signing a three-year contract.

Former Rangers defender John Brown has urged Charles Green to sell the club to supporters. Brown, who declined to transfer his contract as a scout over to the newco, plans to lead a fans’ buyout of the Sevco group.

Green’s consortium completed the purchase of the business and assets of Rangers for €6.8 million earlier this month after the club was consigned to liquidation.
