All set for a late late show

Funny how after a marathon 29 weeks and 53 tournaments it could all come down to one player's final round at the Waynesborough Country Club in Pennsylvania. If Michael Daly's Niclas Fasth and Thomas Bjorn can match or better the earnings of Colin Rutherford's Fredrik Jacobsen and Raymond Russell at the Lancome Trophy then all eyes will turn to Kirk Triplett at the Pennsylvania Classic on Sunday evening . . . assuming he makes the cut.

Remember, Michael needs Fasth, Bjorn and Triplett to win £90,327 more than Jacobsen and Russell in week 29 - if they do he will beat Colin to the first prize and earn the coveted, glorious, magnificent, truly fabulous title of First Golf Masters Champion of the New Millennium. Hype, you'll notice, is our middle name.

The odds against Fionn V Murphy pipping our top two to that £15,000 prize are almost as long as Tiger Woods' list of honours.

Joe Mooney can't beat Colin to first prize (three of the four players he has in action this week are also in Colin's line-up) but if Jacobsen fires on all cylinders at the Lancome Trophy he could yet pip Michael to second.
