AGE OF CHIVALRY'S career was originally envisaged as taking place over sprint distances, but John Oxx's filly can make her first start at seven furlongs a winning one in tonight's Group Three feature at Leopardstown.

Oxx has three of the dozen entries in the Brownstown Stakes including the lightly-raced Joshua's Princess who hasn't been seen since claiming the scalp of no less than Peeping Fawn 15 months ago.

However, it is no surprise to see Michael Kinane on Age Of Chivalry who scored at this grade on this track last month with a last -gasp victory over six furlongs.

That revealed levels of stamina that might not have been guessed at from a successful juvenile career and Oxx has had tonight's race in mind for her ever since.

An obvious threat is the sole English raider Royal Confidence, seventh in the 1,000 Guineas, whose trainer Barry Hills won the Brownstown two years ago with Spinning Queen. However, Age Of Chivalry's profile is progressive and it may progress even more at this new trip.

With Johnny Murtagh suspended, the Irish Derby hero, Séamus Heffernan, can strike again in the Listed Golden Fleece Stakes on board Sawtooth Mountain. The well-bred colt ran into a good one in Shimah on his debut but followed up in style with a win at Gowran from Tomas An Tsioda. That horse in turn was first past the post in a hot maiden at the Curragh on Friday only to be disqualified so Sawtooth Mountain's form looks strong enough for a race like this.

Heffernan can also score on Love To Dance in the mile-and-a-half maiden while Tau Tona can score in his first handicap in the apprentice race.
