A chara, - Last Friday morning, as happens regularly, the 13A bus swung into North Frederick Street at 8.50 a.m. and pulled into the stop at Trinity College at 9.21 am - 31 minutes to travel one mile.

The back-up of traffic to North Frederick Street is caused by one maverick set of traffic lights at O'Connell Monument on O'Connell Bridge, which allows only five to seven vehicles through on the green light. This set of lights has not had a change of sequence since it was set some years ago to cater for the heavy traffic on the Quays, which has eased considerably with the opening of the new motorways. - Is mise,
