Sir, - We are in the thick of the tourist season and the roads of the capital city and the country are heavy with tour coaches, adding to the already catastrophic traffic conditions.
I was appalled recently to observe a coach driver on the main Dublin-Wexford road driving with a microphone in his hand. He was apparently dividing his attention between entertaining and informing his passengers and driving his coach.
Can this be legal and, if so, will it take a tragic accident and loss of life on a grand scale before the law is changed? - Yours, etc., K. Noel Broderick,
