Sir, – The illustrations on the front page of the Sports section (November 30th) graphically illustrate this country’s malaise.
Ireland’s soccer manager is paid more than his Italian counterpart and his pay is almost on a par with that of the world champions. The FAI chief executive is paid over 2.5 times his Spanish or Italian counterparts and almost 15 per cent more than his FA counterpart. This profligacy is unfortunately replicated throughout top levels of our society.
