A chara, - I wonder if any of your more senior readers have memories (or photographs) of the air display which took place in - the Phoenix Park on August 15th, 1924, as part of the revival organised by the GAA, of the ancient Tailteann Games?

The display was mounted by the infant Air Corps, then called the Air Service, and a dozen of its planes (half of the strength) participated. Apparently the greatest number of motor cars ever assembled in Ireland up to that time brought visitors from near and far.

The pictorial coverage in the newspapers was extensive but, alas, no prints have survived except, perhaps, among your readership? Any photographs loaned will be returned promptly. Is mise, agus meas agam ort, 4 The Chyne, Gerrards Cross, Bucks, SL9 8HZ.
