Sir, - Your Belfast Festival at Queen's supplement of November 7th states twice that the forthcoming production of The Oresteia by the National Theatre of Craiova will be the first production of this play in Ireland since it was written by Aeschylus two-and-a-half thousand years ago. This is incorrect. A professional production of the play was staged as recently as 1996 at the City Arts Centre in Dublin. It was produced by Galloping Cat Theatre Company and was directed by Mark O'Brien. The Irish Times gave the show a favourable review and carried a striking production photograph. - Yours, etc.,
