Madam, - Ursula Hough-Gormley (January 3rd) deserves support for her persistence in continuing to make the case for re-siting the National Theatre in O'Connell Street National pride surely also requires as a matter of urgency a sensible and positive decision on the future of Lansdowne Road as our centre of excellence in rugby and soccer, to complement the achievement of the GAA in the rebuilding of Croke Park.

Am I alone in my irritation at the willingness of Irish businessmen to invest in Manchester United (no longer to be seen in Westmoreland Street), but not in Dublin United?
