Sir, - The launch in great style of the Telecom Eireann sale of shares is laudable in many respects of which we are familiar. Nevertheless, I pose a question to Telecom: What relevance has a person's age and home phone number to do with such a launch? It is disgraceful that an individual registering an interest in such shares is asked to commit to an open postcard such personal and sensitive information. This information then becomes an open book while passing through the post and the Telecom organisational procedures. This has connotations of a hidden agenda. Surely we are entitled to an explanation from Telecom as to why such information was required in this instance. - Is mise, (Mrs) Patricia Ryan,
