Madam, - May I request those who erected the beautiful Christmas lights in the streets of our capital city to turn them off as soon as Christmas Day is over?
Using the huge amounts of electricity needed to run these illuminations has already contributed to global warming. Let's stop any further damage as soon as possible. I would suggest as early as possible on December 26th.
Can anyone justify keeping these lights on for further days over the Christmas holiday period when we are now aware of the damage they cause to our environment? - Yours, etc,
