Madam, - On December 10th, Nobel Peace Laureates' Day, it was saddening to reflect that as recently reported, and as condemned by our Minister for Foreign Affairs, Aung San Suu Kyi, who was awarded the Prize in 1991, and was accorded the Freedom of the City of Dublin in 2000, has been told that Burma's military dictatorship, against which she has selflessly campaigned since 1988, has extended for a further year the house arrest under which it has placed her for more than nine.

We must all continue to support her heroic struggle for democracy in her oppressed country. - Yours, etc.,
