Restrictions on cultural events

Sir, – I wish to express my puzzlement at the Government’s restrictions on cultural events. Apparently it is okay to have a concert for 50 people in a theatre, but not in a church.

Because of this, Galway International Arts Festival has cancelled the live performances of ConTempo Quartet scheduled for this weekend.

How is sitting at a string quartet concert more dangerous than sitting through a service?
