Sir, - Some years ago - I think it was when the Guinness depot with its boats and barges was moved down river from the Custom House - I wrote to your paper suggesting that some ship should be moored alongside the quay to give life and interest to what had become a sterile stretch of water. The suggestion was not taken up.

When the Matt Talbot Bridge was under construction and before that strip of water became virtually a stagnant pond closed to all but rowing boats, I wrote again suggesting that some vessel of historic value should be moored in front of the Custom House. Again my suggestion fell on deaf ears.

Now that the welcome restoration of the Asgard has been announced, may I suggest that the restored boat, moored at this point, would add greatly to the historic and aesthetic interest of our city? In time this stretch of the river could become a maritime museum. -Yours, etc., Robert M. Tweedy,
