A Chara, - The "Constituency Profile" for Mid-Ulster in your edition of February 24th refers to Brendan McLaughlin as "an Independent candidate".
Mr McLaughlin is, in fact, standing as a Republican Sinn Féin candidate. The RSF name will not appear on the ballot paper due to the organisation's principled opposition to English rule in Ireland. Nor will he be described as an Independent on the ballot paper. - Is mise,
