A chara, – The compiler of your “What is hot and what is cold” article (Magazine, October 27th) appears to believe that the rabbit ears used for so long to receive a TV signal are now obsolete.

I am delighted to confirm that reports of their demise are greatly exaggerated and that many of them are still serving a useful purpose in life instead of contributing to our landfill. First in line are my own set which are still waving about and feeding my (Saorview-approved) TV set with regular digital pips and squeaks. Despite all the new technology they are still serenely coping with their new demands and satisfying those of us who chose not to avail of a wide plethora of TV stations. long live rabbit ears. – Is mise,
