Madam, - Maybe Robin Bury does over-egg the cake as far as the Anglo-Irish are concerned, but Niall Cusack (May 19th) also misrepresents what Seán Ó'Faoláin wrote, as he went on to say: ". . .many of the new ascendancy worked, in selfless devotion in generation after generation, side by side with native Irishmen, to preserve the tradition, language and history of Ireland".
They contributed greatly to Irish culture and the Gaelic revival and we should give credit where credit is due. - Yours, etc.,
