Queuing for food parcels in Dublin

Sir, – Nick Bradshaw’s striking photograph on your front page of people waiting outside the Capuchin Centre in Dublin for food parcels is so sad in so many different ways (December 23rd). Such a scene is a terrible indictment on what is by any means a very wealthy country.

There has to be a different social construct in our society. Can we please try to do something to change? I aspire to hope. – Yours, etc,

PAUL DORAN,

Clondalkin, Dublin 22.
