Madam, - Does anyone have responsibility for controlling bus queues? In Dublin city centre every day one can observe the latest in contact sports. At the bus stops there are two groups of people waiting for the bus: those who queue in an orderly fashion, standing in a line by the bus stop, and the others who hover nearby, up to 20 metres away, some even in shop doorways.

When the bus arrives the hoverers rush to the bus door, pushing aside anyone in their way - including those who have waited patiently in the queue. Sometimes those who queued are refused admission to the bus because it is full.

Surely Dublin Bus inspectors have a role in refereeing this game to ensure fair play for all. - Yours, etc,
