Sir, - Maxine Jones wonders where to send the bill for the extra child care required when children were off school for the inauguration (November 11th). Rather she should consider the great savings she makes when her children are at school. Would that schools received anything approaching the current child care rates to meet their running costs.
The current annual capitation grants of £45 per pupil in primary schools and £177 for secondary schools would pay for very little time in a creche. - Yours, etc.,
