Madam, - While Dr Ian Paisley's visit to the Battle of the Boyne site is very welcome, it should be noted that Dr Paisley has previously visited the site and was welcomed there by Mr Barry Flood, chairman of the West Ferrard Boyne Rural Development Group.
This local community development group set up an information point on the battle of the north bank of the river, which was operated by volunteers and with the assistance of FAS. Mr Flood also initiated the Salmon of Knowledge Fishing Competition on the River Boyne in conjunction with the Rossin and Slane District Anglers.
