No Frills With Ryanair

Sir, - Recently I had occasion to travel to Paris with a school group. We flew with Ryanair. Everything was fine on the outward trip.

However, as we were checking in to return home, we were suddenly informed that, as the company had sent out a smaller plane, four people would have to stay behind. In spite of our protests that the group should not be split up, myself and one student, who heroically volunteered to remain with me, were left in Beauvais airport.

Luckily there was a later flight. One shudders to think what would have happened if there had not been, for no recompense was offered, not even so much as a cup of coffee. Nor did we get any form of apology.

Perhaps this type of behaviour is in line with the pugnacious manner in which said airline is being publicised by its managing director, but it certainly would not encourage me to fly with it again.
