Sir, - I note that leading opponents of the Nice Treaty, Anthony Coughlan, Patricia McKenna MEP and John Waters, all insist that there must not be another referendum on it (June 11th). Is this based on principle or is it mere sophistry? Youth Defence and the other anti-abortion groups that formed a major segment of the No to Nice campaign have relentlessly argued not for a second, but a third referendum on abortion. - Yours, etc.,
